_ The 2020 Pasadena Triathlon & Angel 5k:

Join us for the 13th annual Pasadena Triathlon & 5k at the Rose Bowl on March 7, 2020! This event features a reverse sprint triathlon (5k run, 15k bike and 150m swim in the Rose Bowl Aquatic Pool), duathlon, a 5k Fun Run benefiting Angel City Sports, and a Junior Triathlon for kids. This event is a great event for new triathletes and competitors.  

This is all followed by a fun post-event festival at Brookside Park!

Participants will receive:

- Awesome Finisher Medal

- Rockin' Race T-Shirt

- 1 Post-race beer (21+)

- Food, Drinks and other goodies from the EXPO

Triathlon Course Description

5k Run (1 loop around the Rose Bowl) - Race Start is on Seco Dr.

15k Bike (3 loops around the Rose Bowl)

150m Swim (3 laps in the Rose Bowl Aquatics Pool)

Duathlon Course Description

5k Run (1 loop around the Rose Bowl) - Race Start is on Seco Dr.

15k Bike (3 loops around the Rose Bowl)

5k Run (1 loop around the Rose Bowl) - Race Start is on Seco Dr.

Angel 5k Course Description (the distance is actually 3.3 miles or 5.3k)

5k Run (1 loop around the Rose Bowl) - Race Start is on Seco Dr.

Proceeds from the Angel 5k benefit this special charity. The mission of Angel City Sports is to create sports opportunities for adults, children, and veterans with physical disabilities and visual impairments. Angel City Sports provides year round  introductory adaptive sport clinics, giving athletes opportunities to participate, learn and train in a variety of sports. 

Junior Triathlon Course Description

- 7-10 years old: 1K run, 1.5 mi bike, 50yd swim

- 5-6 years old: 1/2 mile run, 3/4 mi bike, 25yd swim

SATURDAY, MARCH 9, 2019

6:00 a.m. – Race Day Packet Pick Up

6:00 a.m. – Transition Area Opens

8:00 a.m. > Races Start

8:00 a.m. > 5k and Duathlon

8:03 a.m. > under 1 hour finish time

8:06 a.m. > 1:00 – 1:15 finish time

8:09 a.m. > 1:15 – 1:30 finish time

8:12 a.m. > 1:30 – 1:45 finish time

8:15 a.m. > 1:45 – 2:00 finish time

9:00 a.m. – Post Event Festival Starts

9:15 a.m. – Run Course cut off (1st 5k run must be complete)

9:45 a.m. – Awards

10:15 a.m. – Bike Course cut off (all bikes off course)
10:15 a.m. – If any Duathletes are on the course they  can continue, but they must move to the inner recreation lane for their second 5k Loop.

10:20 a.m. – All swimmers must be in pool. No entry into pool after 10:20am!

10:30 a.m. – All swimmers must exit pool

10:30 a.m. – Course Closed

10:45 a.m. – KIDS TRIATHLON start! 12 noon – Go home and nap

As the streets must open by 10:30am, any athlete on the course after 10:30am must use the inner recreation lane and follow normal traffic rules (use crosswalks, avoid vehicular traffic).
