_ The 2019 Lewisburg Youth Triathlon:
 

Youth Triathlon – Friday, August 14th, 6 PM start

The kids’ Triathlon was started in 2007 from an idea presented to the triathlon committee by Dr. Larry Winans. It was an immediate success and wonderful addition to the adult event. The kids’ tri is for children ages 7 to 14 and is meant to introduce youngsters to the sport of triathlon. The event in non-competitive, however it is chip timed. All participants receive a medal and those registered by July 29th will receive a t-shirt but ALL will feel the satisfaction of finishing!

RACE BEGINS: 6 PM

MANDATORY RACE MEETING
The MANDATORY race meeting will be held at 5:50 pm in the pool area. One parent/guardian and your child MUST be present. We would like to start the event as soon as the meeting is over, so please be on time.

Ages 7 – 9: (Kids will wear GREEN shirts — if registered after the t-shirt cut-off, please plan on having your child wear GREEN)

Swim:  25 yards

Bike:  Approximately .9 miles

Run:  Approximately .25 miles

Ages 10 – 12: (Kids will wear BLUE shirts — if registered after the t-shirt cut-off, please plan on having your child wear BLUE)

Swim:  50 yards

Bike:  Approximately 1.8 miles

Run:  Approximately .4 miles

Ages 13 – 14: (Kids will wear RED shirts — if registered after the t-shirt cut-off, please plan on having your child wear RED)

Swim:  100 yards

Bike:  Approximately 2.7 miles

Run:  Approximately .6 miles

PARKING for YOUTH TRI:
You may park in the parking lot across from the pool, in the skate park parking lot or in the CSSI parking lot on 15th Street. PLEASE NOTE: All of these lots are situated along the triathlon routes so you will not be able to leave until the event is over. If you anticipate that you will have to leave early, I recommend parking along the street in the neighborhoods surrounding the pool.
 

PACKET PICK UP and BODY MARKING FOR YOUTH TRI
Please plan to pick up your child’s race number and t-shirt on Friday from 5:00 to 5:45 pm at the park picnic tables near the tennis courts. Race t-shirts are colored coded by age group and must be worn during the bike and run portion of the event. The 7-9ers will wear GREEN, 10-12ers will wear BLUE and 13-14ers will wear RED.  We recommend that you dress your child in the appropriate color t-shirt in case they don’t like the way the race t-shirt fits or if you registered after we placed our t-shirt order.
