_The 2019 Wild Fish Swim:

Distances: 1 Mile, 2 Mile and 1/2 Mile

Time:
8:30am start (Registration/Packet pickup opens at 7am)

Location:
Collins Cove Beach, Salem, Ma. (GPS 102 Webb St. Salem, MA) Collins Cove is located on Webb Street which is off Bridge Street. Follow signs to Salem Willows and you will see us. We are the cove on the left heading towards the Willows.

Costs:
Early Bird: $35 through 5/1
General Entry: $45 through 8/9
Race Day: $50

Details: This swim event has been very successful averaging close to 200 swimmers each year. Wetsuits are suggested for this swim, but not required. The water is very calm in the cove, which is located in Salem Harbor. Shirts will be guaranteed for all participants pre-registered by July 21st. Swim caps will be provided for all swimmers. All participants will also receive a custom finishers medal!

1/2 Mile Start 8:30am
2 Mile Start 8:35am
1 Mile Start 8:45am

Rules/Regulations: No floaties, fins, snorkels or paddles allowed.

Awards:
Top 3 M/F in each age group in both the 1 and 2 Mile swim: U-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Top M/F in each age group in the 1/2 mile swim: U-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Non Wetsuit Swimmers: Top 3 M/F in the 1/2, 1 and 2 Mile Swim

Post Race Festivities: Post race Breakfast BBQ catered by Every Little Breeze Catering. The breakfast BBQ will include egg frittata oranges and bananas. $5 for non-swimmers and FREE for kids. Cold brew coffee will be for sale. Brothers Taverna in downtown Salem will be offering a 10% discount on breakfast or lunch for all Wild Fish participants.

Parking: Street parking along beach is limited, neighborhood parking and the Bentley School Parking lot (25 Memorial Drive, Salem, MA) is a great place for all overflow parking.

Special Details and Information:
There will be plenty of kayakers, paddleboarders, emergency boats in the water for athlete safety.
In the event there is not enough interest in any one of the distances or categories listed above, event organizers reserve the right to change/cancel or modify the category. In this case, refunds and transfers are eligible.

Distance or Category Changes: If you do change your mind about the category you pre-registered for or the distance you’d like to swim, please email [email protected] in advance or notify someone at race day registration. A change fee may apply.

Weather Policy: Races are held rain or shine unless we determine that race conditions are dangerous. This will be based on a prudent decision made on race weekend. If the race is cancelled there will be no refunds. In the event of inclement weather, Acts of God, or unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to alter, cancel or eliminate any/all portions of the race. Each athlete must accept any such risk of their entry fee paid including other amenities paid for such as t-shirts, insurance, and online administrative fees. All fees collected are used to develop and produce the event, including all race supplies, staffing, and administration.
