_ The 20th Annual Maywood Earth Ride:

The Maywood Earth Ride provides six scenic route options through Sheboygan County and the northern Kettle Moraine area. All routes begin and end at Maywood in Sheboygan. Participants enjoy a goodie bag, continental breakfast, rest stops with snacks and sport beverages, SAG support along the route, and lunch upon returning to the park. Overnight camping is available the night before the ride.

Proceeds of this event support the Maywood mission of connecting our community with nature.

 

Event details and schedule

 

Packet Pick-up and Check-in: Fri. Sept 20 3-6pm or Sat. Sept. 21 starting at 6:30am

 

Rain or Shine: The ride runs rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, the start may be delayed or routes may be shortened at the discretion of event staff.

 

Rest Stop and Course Closures:
Each rest stop has a closing time. Riders on the 112 and 100 mile routes are expected to have an average riding speed of 12-14+mph to complete the course in the allotted time. Riders unable to meet rest stop closing times may change routes or request SAG support to the next rest stop. The course closes at 5pm.

 

Parking: Free parking is available at Maywood. Please be cautious if arriving during start times.

 

Waivers: All cyclists must sign a waiver at the time of check-in. You may not sign a waiver for a spouse. Riders under 18 must have waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

 

ID: All cyclists will be issued a numbered wristband at check-in and must wear the band throughout the ride. Cyclists are encouraged to carry a form of ID, cell phone and emergency contact information.

 

Helmets: All cyclists must wear a helmet. Protective eyewear is encouraged.

 

Audio devices: Headphones or other audio devices that may impair a cyclist from hearing other cyclists or motor vehicles are prohibited.

 

Children in Tow: There is no charge for children riding in tow (attached to a parent or guardian's bicycle.) Children in tow must wear helmets.

 

Open Course: The Maywood Earth Ride is an open course event. All cyclists must follow State of Wisconsin cycling laws. Intersections are not guarded.

 

Camping: Participants may camp at Maywood Friday, September 20. Camping check-in is 3-6pm. There is a $5/person fee for camping in a tent or car camping in the parking area. Please contact Maywood with questions. Please note we do not provide indoor sleeping areas or showers.

Things to Bring: Please bring along personal items you may need during the ride including helmet, eyewear, medications, and dietary specific foods/snacks.
