_ The 2019 Countryman Challenge 5K Obstacle Race:

The 2019 Countryman Challenge 5k Obstacle Race will be held on April 13th!

When: Main Event (7 and older): Saturday April 13, 2019 at 1:00pm/Fun Race (ages 6-11)begins at noon

Where: West Mountain, 59 West Mountain Rd., Queensbury, NY 12804

WHAT: West Mountain’s Countryman Challenge is almost here! You do not want to miss this unique and fun 5K Obstacle Race that uses natural and creative mountain equipment elements (such as the b-net crawl that uses bnet fencing) making this a one-of-a-kind event! Come to Queensbury, NY-based West Mountain to experience its Countryman Challenge 5K Obstacle Race and After Race BBQ for registered competitors. Individuals and Teams of 4 (ages 7 and over) are Welcome to Participate. Partial proceeds benefit Double H Ranch and West Mountain School — two non-profits supporting children and their families. The Fun Race (for children ages 6-11) will begin before the main event at noon. Registration/Check-In will take place in the Main Lodge from 11-12:30pm. Additional Information: This course is fun for everyone and competitors can walk it, hike it, run it or do a combination. You do not need skis for this competition. It is all on foot. What to bring: Water bottle, change of clothes and shoes for the after party.

Main Race Fees: Youth Individual (7-17 years old): $25 by noon on March 15, $30 by noon on April 1, $35 by 10am on April 12, $40 on race day. Adult Individual (18 and over): $35 by noon on March 15, $40 by noon on April 1, $45 by 10am on April 12 and $50 on race day. Teams of 4: $130 by noon on March 15, $145 by noon on April 1, $160 by 10am on April 12, $170 on race day. Included with Main Race: race fees: BBQ lunch, T-shirt (for the first 150 competitors) and beer ticket (if 21 or over). Additional BBQ tickets for families and friends not competing are available for $10

Fun Race Fees: Fun Race Fee: $10 for children 6-11. BBQ tickets are available for $10

Prizes for the Fun Race Ages: 6-8 (girls and boys) 9-11 (girls and boys) Top three overall girls and boys in each age group: 1st place wins a youth/teen full privilege season pass, 2nd place wins Midweek Season Pass and 3rd place wins 6 anytime 2-hour tubing tickets.

Prizes for the Main Race: 12-18 Age Group Individual Male and Female: 1st place wins a full privilege teen season pass, 2nd place wins Midweek Season Pass and 3rd place wins 6 anytime 2-hour tubing tickets. 19-30 Age Group Individual Male And Female: 1st place wins one adult full privilege season pass, 2nd place wins one full privilege midweek pass and 3rd place wins 6 anytime 2-hour tubing tickets. 31-45 Age Group Individual Male And Female: 1st place wins one adult full privilege season pass, 2nd place wins one full privilege midweek pass and 3rd place wins 6 anytime 2-hour tubing tickets. 46 + Age Group Individual Male and Female: 1st place wins one adult full privilege season pass, 2nd place wins one full privilege midweek pass and 3rd place wins 6 anytime 2-hour tubing tickets. Top Three overall Teams: 1st place (each member) wins 12 4-hour anytime lift tickets. 2nd Place (each member) wins 8 4-hour anytime lift tickets. 3rd place (each member) wins 4 4-hour anytime lift tickets.

Waiver: Available online during registration or at check in (one per entry) if you do not register online.

Registration/Check-In: Day of registration will take place on Saturday, April 13 in the Main Lodge from 11am-12:30pm. Online registration is available at active.com.

We welcome children ages 7 and over to participate in the main event. Younger children are welcome to register at the discretion of a parent. Please email [email protected] if this pertains to your child. We encourage all children to do the fun run:)

 

Event details and schedule

 

We have plenty of parking for your convenience. Please come dressed and prepared to run, climb, crawl and jump, and possibly swim? That's if you fall off the leap pads (tower pads) into the frozen slush pond. Registration is in the Main Lodge from 11-12:30pm. Young children participating in the fun race need to be registered online or at registration for $10 before 11:30am. and will need to have a signed waiver from an adult at registration. Please bring a change of clothes and shoes for the after race party.
