_ The 2019 Sunrise Triathlon Series:
The 2019 Sunrise Triathlon Series kicks off on May 12th at the BHP Billiton YMCA. This modern facility offers a state-of-the-art 50-meter indoor pool that will allow athletes to easily traverse through one-way lanes in a snake pattern.
Consistent with the series’ aim to gradually advance the level of difficulty from race to race, the swim, bike, and run distances gradually increase from Sunrise Tri #1 to #3. Sunrise Tri #4 shifts venues to El Karubah Shrine on Cross Lake and challenges athletes to an open water swim and some rolling terrain. New in 2019 is the addition of an Olympic distance course at Sunrise Tri #4!
Sunrise Tri #1 (5/12/19 @ BHP Billiton YMCA) begins with a 300-meter pool swim. Next, athletes take on a two-lap, 11-mile bike on the Clyde Fant Parkway. Last, racers finish fast with a flat 2-mile out-and-back run by Champion Lake and Shreve Island.
Sunrise Tri #2 (6/2/19 @ BHP Billiton YMCA) begins with a 350-meter pool swim. Next, athletes take on a two-lap, 13-mile bike on the Clyde Fant Parkway. Last, racers finish fast with a flat 2.5-mile out-and-back run by Champion Lake and Shreve Island.
Sunrise Tri #3 (6/23/19 @ BHP Billiton YMCA) begins with a 400-meter pool swim. Next, athletes take on a two-lap, 15-mile bike on the Clyde Fant Parkway. Last, racers finish fast with a flat 3.1-mile out-and-back run by Champion Lake and Shreve Island.
Sunrise Tri #4 (7/14/19 @ El Karubah Shrine) begins with a single-loop open water swim in Cross Lake. Next, athletes take on an out-and-back bike course with light rolling hills and stunning vews of Cross Lake. Last, racers finish strong on a challenging run course through Western Hills and along the shoreline of Cross Lake. You can choose to do either the Sprint or the Olympic!
