_ The 2019 Tradewind Triathlon:

Race will start at 0630 on Sunday, August 25 2019. 

Come join the Marines and Sailors of MCBH for the Tradewind Triathon! Start your morning with a brisk 500 meter open water swim in beautiful Kaneohe Bay, followed by a fast paced 11 mile bike ride, finishing with a scenic 5K run along the flight line with great views of Kaneohe Bay.  This race is open to the general public.

All civilians (Non DoD) MUST register by August 11. 

T-Shirts:  Shirts are NOT guaranteed if you register after August 15, 2019. 

Entry Fees: Individual, Military: $50.00, Individual, Civilian: $60.00, 3-person Relay, Military: $70.00, 3-person Relay, Civilian: $90.00

Additional $10.00 Fee: If registered after August 15, 2019

Online registration will close on Tuesday, August 20 2019 at 11:59pm HST.

Registrations are non-refundable.

Awards:  Awards will be given to the top three finishers, male and female overall, top male and female finishers in age categories (14 and below, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-59, 60+) and the top three relay teams.  

Event details and schedule

Packet Pick-up: Packet pickup for Civilians, DoD employees, Active Duty, Dependants and Retirees will be held at the Front Gate pass house of MCBH on Thursday, August 22 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm and for DoD employees, Active Duty, Dependants and Retirees at the Semper Fit Center, Friday, August 23 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Packets may also be picked up the morning of the race beginning at 5:00am. All civilian participants will receive a special event pass in their race packet.

Check in and Safety Inspections: Check-in begins at 0500 at the Hangar 101 pad. The safety brief will take place at 0615. Bike inspections will be held at the staging area and will be provided from 0500 to 0615. Helmets must be worn at all times while on the bikes. Bicycle repair kits are highly recommended. 

Bike inspections will take place from 5:00am to 6:15am

Swim portion: The swim portion will take place in open water in Kaneohe Bay and will be a water start. Swim fins and snorkels are NOT authorized during the swim portion of the race. Goggles and swim caps are allowed but not provided. 

No pets or strollers will be allowed in this event.
