_ The 2019 Safari Run:
Global Health Partnership’s 2019 Safari Run will be held on Sunday, March 31st, 2019 at the North Campus Golf Course, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Sponsored by Bernalillo County, the event benefits Global Health Partnerships (GHP), an Albuquerque based non-profit organization that provides medical care and humanitarian aid to the poor in rural Kenya, with local community support. GHP operates with an emphasis on maternal and child health, child nutrition and aid for the most impoverished families.
The Safari Run will start with a free children’s running clinic led by Mbarak Hussein, an elite Kenyan runner. Elite runners from Kenya and other countries will be participating in the run, supporting the work of GHP.

Event details and schedule
Events include a 1k Kid’s race, a 5-k fun run/walk and an 8-k race with the elite runners. All participants will receive a hand-carved safari animal from Kenya. African drummers will add to the fun. 100% of race proceeds go directly to medical projects in rural Kenya.
