The Gretna Gritty is Gretna Glen Camp & Retreat Center's 7th annual 5k mud run with 20+ obstacles set in the beautiful, rugged terrain of the Mt. Gretna area. We don't like to brag but we HAVE been called the "Hometown Hero" of Obstacle course races. Participants can expect to encounter mud, water, fire, rocks, earth, and climbs that excite the mud runner in us all! If you like to do awesome events for good causes - this is the race for you! Now in it's 6th year we will also host the "Nitty Gritty" kids (5-11 years old) fun run which gets kids in on the action with a 1.3 mile fun run. All Gritty and Nitty Gritty runners can expect lunch, medals, adventures, a sweet Gretna Gritty t-shirt, and memories to last a lifetime!
We seek to have an AMAZING event with the BEST course around & Raise $50,000 for Gretna Glen's "Pathways to the Future" finance initiative, and road re-paving project. All proceeds for this event, excluding the costs of participation, will go directly toward Gretna Glen Camp & Retreat Center's "Pathway to the Future" Initiative, and the re-paving of our main camp road. We seek to cast off our burden of debt so that camp can continue free of financial struggle, transforming lives for many years to come. Our goal this year is to have 1000 runners and raise more than $50,000! With your help, we can make this happen.

Course Information:
5k+ Course with lots of natural scenery, and dirt trails (90% wooded trail). We pride ourselves on providing an invigorating and challenging trail which is great on it's own and then we add 26 high quality obstacles. These obstacles are not the high dollar big build obstacles that you see at a Tough Mudder, but they are built into our environment and we work hard to make them challenging and exciting no matter what your level of experience. This is all operated on a United Methodist Camp & Retreat Center, and our race directly funds the ministries of Gretna Glen Camp & Retreat Center which serves over 10,000 people of all backgrounds each year with transformative experiences in nature.
