_ The 2019 Tri Up North Triathlon:

The Tri Up North triathlons are bike, paddle, run triathlons in Frankfort, Michigan put on by the Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. This event centers around Frankfort's Betsie Bay on the Western shore of Lake Michigan which is the perfect setting for a triathlon. Tri Up North features to different triathlon courses: The Classic 10 mile event which is specifically geared toward beginners and those who are looking for a little motivation to become more active and the Challenger 22 mile event which is a competitive course for experienced athletes and relay teams looking for a challenge. For those who would like to participate but aren't interested in tackling a triathlon there is the Betsie Bay Walk, this fun non-timed 2.5 mile walk may be the perfect fit!

Funds raised from the 2018 Tri Up North Triathlon will support Community Wellness Programs at the Betsie Hosick Health & Fitness Center in Frankfort. This includes programs and classes such as Senior Movement & Balance, Active Steps, The Journey Program and Youth Injury Prevention. The weekend of the Tri Up North Triathlon provides a great opportunity for both locals and visitors to enjoy an athletic challenge and then relax and soak in Northern Michigan. Fall offers an explosion of gorgeous colors to add to the areas natural beauty and the easy going pace. With Frankfort as your home base for the weekend, you're in one of the most picturesque harbor towns: on M22, one of Michigan's most famous roads; and right at the edge of the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. With the race on Saturday morning your free in the afternoon to set off and explore Frankfort and the other beautiful nearby communities.
