The Barksdale Officers’ Spouses’ Club (BOSC) will host the fourth annual 5K “Shamrock Shuffle” race to raise funds for the BOSC scholarship program, and local/national charities – all with a larger focus on local service members and their families. We are excited to once again bring this event to the Shreveport/Bossier area. The race begins at 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Marilynn’s Place.
This will be part of the Sweet & Lucky series in conjunction with the Pie Run and King Cake Run. Participants of all three races will receive a commemorative pint glass that Marilynn's will fill with beer for free during the after party. All participants will receive free coffee, beignets, and one complimentary bar beverage.
During the after party, a percentage of purchases at Marilynn's place will be contributed towards the Barksdale OSC Scholarship Program, our main charitable focus.
The Barksdale OSC prides ourselves on giving back to our community by being a philanthropic and social organization that supports airmen, military spouses, and dependents. We are comprised of members who voluntarily participate, not on behalf of the Department of Defense, the Air Force, or any official unit of organization thereof. Last year, with great community support, the BOSC contributed several thousand dollars to charities and military scholarships. Those charities included: Military Ball of the Ark-La-Tex, Air Force Aid Society, Operation Bright Holiday, HAP House, Air Force Village, Base Library, and Fisher House Inc.
