Celebrating our 10th Anniversary of the Park to Park Half Marathon!
Come Run Sulphur, Louisiana!
It all started running for Jimbo in 2010. A group of novice female runners calling themselves the SPAR Stars were training for an out of town half marathon when one of their husbands was diagnosed with cancer. Rather than travelling out of town to run, the group of runners decided to “Run for Jimbo”. The half marathon raised money for medical expenses from Jimbo’s cancer treatment.
Sulphur’s first half marathon was supported within the community and is now a fundraiser for other organizations and families. More than $11,300 has been donated to families of cancer survivors, local non-profits, and Sulphur High School Cross Country team since 2010.
