Against the Tide is a family-friendly, multi-sport event to benefit Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC). MBCC is the only non-profit in the state dedicated to the prevention of breast cancer from environmental causes. The funds raised through Against the Tide help to support and expand our community education program Let’s Talk Prevention: Reducing Toxic Exposures, MBCC Webinar Series, and the newly-introduced environmental health program for high school students. Participants may register as individuals or enter as a team. You can choose to participate in one or more of the following event components:
• Competitive 1-mile Swim
• Aquathon 5K– Competitive 1-mile swim followed by 5K run
• Aquathon 10K – Competitive 1-mile swim followed by 10K run
• 5K Run (USA Track & Field certified)
• 10K Run (USA Track & Field certified)
• 3-mile Walk
• 1/2 Mile Stand-up Paddle Board
• Recreational 1/2 mile or 1-mile Swim
• Recreational 2 Mile Kayak
Registration is $40 per event activity and $25 for Students with valid school I.D.
Against the Tide 5K and 10K feature a tree-lined, gently rolling course through DCR's beautiful Hopkinton State Park. The course is on paved-road and is USATF certified. Both the 5K and 10K are chip-timed.
Rte. I-495 (north or south) to exit 21A, Main Street Hopkinton. Travel on Main Street until the third traffic light located at the heart of downtown Hopkinton. Turn left, traveling North on Route 85. Proceed approximately 2 miles to the Hopkinton State Park entrance on the right (do not enter the Field Office on the left).
Mass Pike to Rte 9E Turnpike Road via Exit 23A toward Framingham. Take the RT-85S ramp toward Hopkinton / Milford. Turn slight right onto Cordaville Road / RT 85. Continue to follow Route 85. Hopkinton State Park entrance is on the left.
