8k Run/13k Mtn Bike OR 1M Run/3M Mtn Bike Make tracks where the Dinosaurs made tracks 150 million years ago! The Moab Off-Road Duathlon and Triathlon takes place on the SUPERB Klondike Bluffs Trails, North of Moab, UT. It is a super fun course featuring Classic Moab Singletrack including slickrock, red dirt trails, and scenic views of Arches National Park. Two duathlon options are available - the 8k trail run and 13k mountain bike distance, or the beginners and kids course which starts with a 1 mile trail run and finishes up with a 3 mile mountain bike ride! Enter as a SOLO (run then bike) or as a DUATHLON RELAY TEAM (one runner and one biker, tag off in the transition area.) NEW THIS YEAR: Add the Friday evening swim (limited to first 100 entrants) held at the Moab Recreation Center during packet pickup and make your duathlon a triathlon! This fun 'Stage Race' style triathlon combines your Friday evening swim time with your Saturday morning off-road duathlon time. Triathletes be eligible for overall and age group awards in both the swim and the duathlon, then special Triathlon awards will be presented to the top-3 overall triathletes as determined by their combined swim and duathlon times. There will not be a Triathlon Relay option this year, however if you have a swimmer traveling with you, the Friday swim is open to triathletes as well as swim-only participants.
8k trail run: mostly singletrack with quite a bit of slickrock. Course crosses the Dinosaur Stomping Ground where there are actual dinosaur footprints.
13k mountain bike: challenging but ridable. Mostly singletrack with some doubletrack. Some of the best mountainbike trails around!
