_ The 2018 Boulder Rock Trail Run 10K:
The Pathfinders of Perry County has teamed up with the Housing Development Alliance to host the 1st annual Boulder Rock Run! This exciting new 5K Hike/Trail Run and 10K Trail Run will take you up, down and all around the newly developed trail system in Perry County Park in Hazard, Kentucky. The 5K Hike/Trail Run features a variety of running/hiking including old service roads, wide multi-use trails and technical single track trails all through the beautiful Appalachian forest. The 5K course winds its way up the mountain and features one steep, technical (but thankfully relatively short) climb to remind you that this isn’t your ordinary 5K! At about the halfway point you reach the race’s high point - Boulder Rock. The trail takes you right through this beautiful rock formation. From this point, it’s mostly cross slope and downhill running to the finish. Looking to double your fun? Go to greater heights, climb more steep hills and enjoy even more time in the woods with a 10K trail run. The 10K course adds more adventure with additional trails. Due to time limitations, we do not recommend you hike the 10K course.
Run to train, run to compete, run to do good! As all proceeds, sponsorships, and donations made to and from the event will go directly toward the betterment of Perry County.
Each participant who signs up before October 8th, 2018 will receive an event T-Shirt (activewear fabric) and winners of each division will receive medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd finishers.
