The Chasing Caterpillars Triathlon will be held again on February 17, 2019. It is rapidly becoming one of the cherished events on the Treasure Coast as a fun and competitive event that helps a very worthwhile charity.
The Chasing Caterpillars Triathlon caters to both new and experienced Triathlete. Unlike most of the southern Florida events, the Triathlon has a pool swim in the beautiful 50 meter pool of the Waterpark. A new 11.2 mile bike and 5k run course make the event more spectator friendly - and traffic friendly! And of course in February, the event is one of only a few available to start your triathlon season off right.
Chasing Caterpillars Triathlon, in addition to being an outstanding event, provides assistance to the Treasure Coast Down Syndrome Awareness Group, a local charity that provides essential services to its special persons.
The swim is a 5 lap long course swim in the beautiful Sailfish Splash Waterpark Olympic pool. It is a "time trial" start so that no one should feel uncomfortable!
The bike course is changed to make the event so much more enjoyable. It is now a 4 lap clockwise course around south Stuart - south to Indian Street, west to Kanner, north to the High school and through the parking lot, then south on Willoughby Street. Safe and enjoyable so that more people can participate - and more can watch an cheer you on! An 11.2 Mile Course
