_ The 2018 Beer Mile at the Burg:
Join us at Cannonsburg Ski Area for the FIRST EVER Beer Mile at the Burg on October 26, 2018! Although it's not REQUIRED...we HIGHLY encourage you to wear a costume for what will be a beer mile of epic proportions! Beer will be available for purchase at Cannonsburg, but you can also bring your own 4 pack! Yes, we have rules...duh!
We are using the base of Cannonsburg with little elevation- You will not be running to the top of the hill. You are welcome!
Race start time will be adjusted as we get the final numbers in! so STAY TUNED! The event will not take place earlier than 6:30pm EST.
Rules:
- 21 and over - ID's will be checked at race check in
- Each competitor drinks four cans of beer and runs four laps - NO GLASS bottles are allowed!!!
(Start - Beer/Lap - Beer/Lap - Beer/Lap - Beer/Lap - Finish)
- Beer must be consumed before the lap has begun, within the transition area.
(Transition area is the 10 meter zone before the finish/start line.)
- The race begins with the drinking of the first beer in the last meter of the transition zone.
(This ensures the competitors run a complete mile)
- Competitors must drink cans of beer and the contents will be no less than 12 oz.
- No specialized cans may be used that give an advantage by allowing the beer to pour at a faster rate.
(“Super mega mouth cans” and other such containers are prohibited.)
- Beer cans must not be tampered with in any manner.
(No shotgunning or puncturing of the can except for opening the can by the tab at the top.)
- Beer or Cider (you're welcome GF peeps) must be a minimum of 5% alcohol by volume and no more than 7ish%.
- The beer must be a fermented alcoholic beverage brewed from malt and flavored with hops (or appleish stuff)
- Each beer (cider) can must not be opened until the competitor enters the transition zone on each lap.
Age groups:
Male: 21 - 29 / 30 - 39 / 40 - 49 / 50 and over
Female: 21 - 29 / 30 - 39 / 40 - 49 / 50 and over
