_ The 2018 Go Fest King & Queen of the Mountain Challenge - Mountain Bike:

MOUNTAIN BIKE

MUST DOWNLOAD STRAVA TO PARTICIPATE.

This contest is an annual event that takes place the week of the Anthem Go Outside Festival in Roanoke, VA. The sponsors and hosts of the event are Adidas Outdoors and Runabout Roanoke.

You have between 7am on October 7 until exactly 3:37pm on October 13 to post your best Strava time. On Saturday (Oct. 13) the King & Queen of Mountain Biking and Trail Running will be crowned around 5pm at the Adidas Outdoor tent.

The male and female winners this year will receive a $200 gift card from Adidas Outdoor.Also they will be crowned King and Queen of the Mountain. There will also be random drawings for prizes for those who participate thanks to RunAbout Sports Roanoke.

There are two race categories, each will have a King and Queen (you are welcome to participate in both but you must register for both):

You must register and pay your $5 fee to be eligible. You must also have a Strava account set up. Need help with Strava? Well perhaps this challenge isn't for you because as King and Queen you must know all, or at least be able to make it up.  But if you need a little help check out https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/206818170-Getting-Started-on-the-Web for additional help. 

The course will start and finish on the GO Fest side of the pedestrian bridge above the Roanoke River. There will be signs at the end of the bridge to start and finish. There is a predetermined course so make sure you're familiar with it. Once you register you will receive an invite to the exclusive GO Fest King and Queen Strava Club where you will be able to see the course as well as your rank on the leaderboard. There is a 6 mile course loop for the running competition and a 10 mile loop for the mountain biking competition. Please obey all traffic laws and trail etiquette. You can attempt the course as many times as you like.

Once registered you will receive a confirmation email with a link to request to join the Strava King and Queen of the Mountain- MTB Club. If you already have an account with Strava, just sign in and join. If you do not have a Strava account then you will need to create one and link your GPS watch or use your phone as your recording device.
