WHAT: All camps are put on by the Ruble Triathlon Coaching staff and focused on higher volume triathlon training to take advantage of our time in Florida. Each day is filled with training and usually finished off with an optional group dinner.
These camps will get you a head start on your 2019 season. Great for anyone looking to race an early season 70.3 or Ironman - or just something to provide motivation during the winter training months. Every camp is catered to ability and speed levels attending, keep reading below sections for more info on that.
WHERE: Swim at the National Training Center's 50 meter outdoor pool, Lucky's Lake, and Lake Minneola. Ride the best roads and paved trails in Florida with plenty of climbing These include Sugar Loaf Mountain, Buckhill road, and Waterfront park. Run at Waterfront Park, the Clay Trail loop with rolling hills through the orange groves, and other dirt and gravel roads in the area.
WHEN: Within the A camp are the full 7 day option from March 4th through March 10th AND a 4 day option(March 7th through March 10th). All workouts and routes are planned and fully supported with vehicle SAG and nutrition. This camp is great for anyone looking to race an early season 70.3 or Ironman - or just something to provide motivation during the winter.
First workout of the 7 day A camp starts Monday March 4th at 7am, the final workout ocamp finishes at 2pm on Sunday March 10th. The first workout of the 4 day A camp starts Thursday March 7th at 7am and the final workout finishes also at 2pm on Sunday March 10th. We do have the rental house for another week beyond the A camp - so anyone wanting to book an extra night and leave Monday morning this can be arranged. The final workout will finish at the NTC and showers are available for those catching flights soon after.
The 'B' camp is 4 days long from March 14th to March 17th. You'll still get everything you got in past camps and all participants will still be challenged. All workouts and routes are planned and fully supported with vehicle SAG and nutrition. This camp is great for anyone looking to race an early season 70.3 or Ironman - or just wanting something to provide motivation during the winter.
The first workout of the 4 day B camp starts Thursday March 14th at 7am and the final workout finishes at 1pm on Sunday March 17th. The final workout will finish at the NTC and showers are available for those catching flights soon after.
HOW FAR AND FAST: The 'A' camp consists of higher volume and faster speeds. During the 'A' camp expect to ride 350 miles, run 30-50 miles, and swim 12,000-20,000 meters during our 7 days. I do offer shorter options on most workouts to accommodate different situations. Everyone attending the 'A' camps have 70.3 and Ironman experience with a recent sub 6 hour 70.3 or showing similar ability in workouts.
The 'B' camp consists of less volume and slower speeds. During the 'B' camp expect to ride 100-150 miles, run 15-20 miles, and swim 6,000-8,000 meters over the 4 days. Everyone attending the 'B' camp has triathlon, and preferably at least one 70.3 finish or similar volume training experience. This is open for anyone with a recent 6-8 hour 70.3 or showing similar ability in workouts.
WHO: All camps are led by Ruble Triathlon Coaching (Zach Ruble and assistant coaches added per total participants), and will have a mix of the above mentioned ability triathletes. The past 4 years camps have been hard work but nobody takes themselves too seriously.
I will have hired extra SAG and mechanical support to handle total camp numbers. With the drafting on the bike workouts and shorter workout options available we can accommodate a fairly wide range of ability within each camp. Each camp is limited to 20 peopl
