Race Description: The Triad Zombie Run is a 1.5 mile trail race. But you’re not running against the clock — you’re running from brain-hungry, virus-spreading, bloody zombies. Before the race, you will be given a flag belt, just like the overly intimidating game of flag football. These two flags represent your health. The zombies want to take your flags and maybe eat your brains. If you lose all your health flags, you die. And the zombies win.

There will be obstacles throughout the course. The zombies cannot pull your flags when you are completing an obstacle. Their job is to chase you and eat you — but mainly go after your health, in the form of your flag belt. They are not allowed to touch you in any other way, and you are not allowed to come into contact with them. Avoid the zombies to keep your health flags.

Use speed, strategy and your intact brains to make it to the FINISH LINE “alive” with at least ONE FLAG INTACT. If you finish with zero health flags, this means the zombies have successfully transformed you into the “undead”; you will have finished a run, but you will not be admired by other competitors and spectators as a survivor. There will be a start line, and a finish line, but what happens in between is up to you.  All Survivors will receive at metal at the finish line!  Kids run finishers will receive a ribbon.

GENERAL RULES:

  •  No weapons or mock weapons will be permitted on the premises. You aren’t attacking, you’re running.
  •  No drugs, alcohol, or outside food/beverages are permitted on the property. There will be a concession stand.
  •  No pets or children under the age of 12 are allowed to race with you. Not even if they’re trained to hunt zombies.
  •  Participants and spectators must abide by all instructions given from the race directors.

RUNNER RULES:

  •  If all of your flags have been taken, you are NOT automatically transformed into a zombie and you may NOT take another runner’s flags, chase other runners, or pick up flags off the ground. Zombie transformation occurs AFTER you’ve crossed the finish line. KEEP RUNNING!
  •  You are not allowed to touch, hit, punch, tackle, kick, slap, scratch, pinch, spit on, bite, or do anything to harm the zombies or other runners. No matter how scared you get, remember, you are running from the zombies. Just be fast. Don’t fight.
  •  You may not skip an obstacle, tuck your flags into your clothing, or block your flags with your arms at any time. Flags must be visible to the zombies.
  •  You are required to wear a bib with your participant number clearly shown on the front of your attire.

Halloween Costumes are encouraged. However, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WEAR A COSTUME THAT WILL MAKE YOU LOOK, IN ANY WAY, LIKE A ZOMBIE or one that covers your entire face. You must be recognizable.
*** IF YOU DO NOT ABIDE BY ANY OF THE RULES ABOVE YOU WILL BE IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFIED AND REMOVED FROM THE RUN AND WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPLETE THE RACE.

Don't forget to check out the zombie photo platform to get your picture taken with a zombie, and our amazing concession stand!
