_ The 2019 Park-to-Park 10K Challenge:

This is a competitive chip-timed 10K Run & 10K Relay.

10K Run: You can run as an individual or with a team of 4-6 runners. Everyone is eligible to win individual awards, even those who are running on a team. Medals will be awarded to the Top 3 overall male and female runners and the Top 3 teams in each division; Male, Female and Co-Ed. The winner in each age group will also earn a medal. Age groups; 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74 and 75+. All finishers will receive a very nice Park-to-Park 10K finisher medal! Post-race snacks, music and vendors will be available after the race. 

Teams: Male and female teams must have at least 4 runners of the same gender but can have up to 6 runners. The top 4 runners will score points for their team and the additional runners (pushers) will push runners from other teams back in the scoring. Co-Ed teams can only have teams of 4 (2 males & 2 females). 

10K Relay: You will partner up with another person with each of you running approximately a 5K. Medals will be awarded to the Top 3 teams in each division; Male, Female and Co-Ed. Runners will need to provide their own transportation to and from the relay exchange zone located in Canyon Lake Park at the 5K mark. There is no finisher medal for this race. Post-race snacks, music and vendors will be available after the race.  

The race route is a beautiful route that takes you around Sioux Park, mostly along the bike path to and around Canyon Lake Park and back. There will be an Aide Station with water at the 5K mark which is also the exchange zone for the relay. No strollers or dogs allowed in this race. See other rules at the bottom of this page (coming soon).

Register early to save money and for sure by June 13 to guarantee yourself a t-shirt! Registration Fees for the 10K Run are $30 until June 1 and $35 from June 1 to June 22. After June 22 they are $40 and must be done in person on Saturday or Sunday at packet pick-up. Registration Fees for the 10K Relay are $20 per runner until June 1 and $25 per runner from June 1 to June 22. After June 22 they are $30 per runner and must be done in person on Saturday or Sunday at packet pick-up.

Packet Pick-up: You can pick up your packet at the Sioux Park picnic shelter south of the track by the American Flag on Saturday - June 22 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm and on Sunday - June 23 from 6:30am - 7:30am at that same location. 

Race Day registrations: can be done at the Sioux Park picnic shelter south of the track by the American Flag on Sunday - June 23 from 6:30am - 7:30am or better yet you can also register in person at the packet pick-up on Saturday - June 22 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Registrations Fees after June 22 are $40.

Race Time: At 8:00am we will start with the National Anthem followed by the 10K Run & Relay (It will be a chip start-to-chip finish and we will line up fastest runners to slowest runners) (If we have a very large number of runners than we will stagger the starts in 2 minutes waves in the following order: all Male teams & individuals followed by all Co-Ed Teams followed by all female teams and individuals). Awards will follow at approximately 9:30am.

CANCELLATION: We will make every attempt to run this race but we all know what can happen in South Dakota so be prepared to run in all types of weather.
