_ The 2019 Pedal Paddle Puff Triathlon:

Celebrate the 4th of July in Arlington this year! We have a smorgasbord of festivities! What better way to kick it off than participate in the annual tradition that dates back to pioneer days?!?!? The Pedal Paddle Puff Triathlon is great fun for the whole family, groups of friends, or individuals who want to push themselves to the limit.

The race will begin with puffers, followed by the pedalers, and ending with the paddlers.

All race categories will have overall prizes.

Due to legal restriction, the boating portion is limited to 16 years or older, 12 or older with a boater safety card, unless accompanied by an old.

TIME AND PLACE:

Registration and packet pick up at Haller Park 8:00

Start of Triathlon at Haller Park 9:00am

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Approximately 15 miles of 3 interconnected routes utilizing a bike, canoe/kayak and running.

Route #1 Puff: Approximately 3.1 miles.
Beginning at the starting line, head down Eagle Trail and proceed down Dike road. Follow the road approximately 1.5 miles, and return back to the race finish line to slap hands with the biker for triathlon participants or enjoy the after party for Foam Runners. There will be volunteers blocking traffic, and a clearly marked turn around.

Route #2 Pedal: Approximately 5.8 miles.
From Haller City Park entrance, go south on Division Ave. to Haller Ave. Turn left on Haller Ave. (on north side of Food Pavilion store) to Broadway St. Turn right on Broadway to Burke Ave. (Hwy 530). Turn left on Burke Ave. (Hwy 530 East) follow SR 530 to the Arlington Heights Road, turn right on to Arlington Heights Road, staying on the right hand shoulder of road continue to Jordan Road. Turn right on the Jordan Road, staying on the right hand side of road, follow the Jordan Road to the River Meadows Park where the Paddle portion of the race begins.

Route #3 Paddle: Approximately 6 miles.
Open to Any type of flotation device! For the those who are racing for time, you will placed in the front for the start. All Paddlers must have life jackets and whistles.

Beginning before River Meadows, 6 miles along the main channel of the South Fork of the Stilly River to the beach at Haller Park. 

The race finishes at Haller Park where the runners will tag the boaters and sprint to the finish line. 

Note: The river conditions may dictate a change in the landing area.

FOR TRIATHLON PARTICIPANTS, YOU NEED TO PROVIDE YOUR OWN KAYAK OR CANOE!

Following the race will be snacks, drinks, music, prizes, and FOAM DANCE PARTY!
All race participants will receive a race t shirt, and a voucher for either a pancake breakfast or craft beer following the event in the beer garden (for 21 and older of course for the beer).
