Description: 1 or 2 Mile Swim in the Merrimack River to benefit the American Tumor Association.

Awards: Top 3 M/F finishers Non Wetsuit and Wetsuit. 1st M/F in each of the following age groups: 15 & under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. (No Double Dipping)
Post Race Festivities: Food/drink will be provided to all participants. A slew of local and corporate vendors will be on site and of course our DJ will be keeping us entertained throughout the course of the event.

Course Information:
Course: Both 1 and 2 mile races will begin by swimming up river against the current, to a turn around buoy that will make for a very fast return, swimming with the current back to the finish.
1 Mile Race – Starts at Lowell City Beach and the turnaround is at 1/2 way point up river.
2 Mile Race – Starts at the Lowell City beach, swim to the Rourke bridge & back
Directions:
Directions: From the South: Take Rte 3 North, Exit #32, take a sharp right at the end of the ramp, Drum Hill Road/Lowell Exit. Sears will be on the left, continue for 1 1/4 miles and go over the Rourke Bridge, turn right onto Rte. 113 East, Go .9 mile & the swim race is on the right.
From the North: Take Rte. 3 South, Take Exit #32, Go around the rotary & take Drum Hill Road/Lowell Exit.
Other Info:
History: This marks the 12th annual Mighty Merrimack Swim in Lowell, MA. The event was founded by Claire Cloutier, who was an avid endurance athlete, claiming her IRONMAN title at the Arizona Ironman, was a member of the TriFury Triathlon Team and founder & director of the Mill City Triathlon & other endurance events in the Greater Lowell area. Claire suffered a brain tumor and passed away in 2016. We continue to honor Claire and her hard work as we continue hosting this annual swim in her memory.
