_ The 6th Annual Gunnison High Triathlon is a great event for the whole family. The event is based out of the Community Center in Gunnison Colorado where all swimming is completed. The bike portion of our race includes paved bike path and an awesome "out and back" on scenic country road #730. Finally the run leaves the Community Center on city streets and then winds through the beautiful Van Tuyl - trail system on a gravel recreation path.
Bring the whole family, the kids triathlon starts at 8:30am with packet pick-up and transition zone opening at 7:30am, parent/kid pre-race meeting at 8:00am. The adult race starts at 10:30 am, with transition zone and packet pick-up at 8:30am, pre-race meeting at 10:00am.
There will be a festive finish line/award ceremony complete with music, snacks, live award ceremony with medals for top three finishers in all categories
Course Information:
Kids swim will be in leisure pool or lap pool depending on age, bike course will be on paved bike path going North out of Community Center, and run will be held on N. Colorado Street.
Adult 500 meter swim will be in lap pool, the 14.5 mile bike course will go North out of Community Center then continuing North on County Road #730 out and back. The 4 mile run will leave the Community Center and go West out onto the Van Tuyl Trail System then back to the finish at the Community Center;.
