Westport Weston Y Indoor Triathlon - March 4, 2018:
The indoor triathlon consists of:
15 minutes swim in the pool,
25 minutes cycle on a spin bike,
20 minutes run on a treadmill.
The indoor triathlon consists of a 15 minutes swim in the pool, 25 minutes stationary cycle on a spin bike and finish by running for 20 minutes on the treadmill. The swim laps, spin bike and treadmill distances are aggregated and scored to get the top three Male and Female triathletes. We also have a newbie category! Unlike an outdoor triathlon, the transition times do not count towards your over-all finish time. You will have time to move from one element to the next.
The Swim: Depending on the number of participants, there will be at most two swimmers per lane. Each swimmer will stay on their same side of the lane. Remember to bring your goggles. We will provide swim caps.
The Bike: The spin bikes can accommodate SPD clips only. There are also cages on the pedals for those choosing to use your running shoes on the bike.
The Run: The treadmills are in close proximity to the spin bikes, so you have 5 minutes to move to the treadmills. Please bring your running shoes with you to the spin after your swim…saves time.
Important: Men must keep their shirts on during the cycle and run portions of the race.
