_ The 2018 Columbia Indoor Triathlon and Duathlon:
Event is open to all levels of triathletes and fitness enthusiasts who can swim (or run), bike and then run for the indicated times. Great for novices to the sport of triathlon or duathlon looking to finish their first multisort event as well as the experienced triathlete looking to jump start their training! Ages 11 and over. Must be 4'11' to fit properly on the spin bikes.

This event is open to anyone that can swim, bike, and then run/walk or run/walk, bike and then run/walk again for the indicated times. This event is purely for the CHALLENGE and the FUN!

Triathlon – 15 min swim, 40 min bike, 20 min run
Duathlon – 15 min run, 40 min bike, 20 min run
Event Details
When: Sunday March 4, 2018 various start times by waves
Where: The Columbia Association, The Supreme Sports Club, 7080 Deepage Drive, Columbia, MD.
Who: Ages 11 and over. Must be able to swim, bike, and run/walk for the indicated times. Parents must be present during the entire event for youth under 13. Participants must be 4’11” or taller to safely fit the indoor bikes.
Details: The event will be organized in waves of 8-12 participants. The swim takes place in a 25 yd indoor pool, the bike takes place on state-of-the -art Schwinn spin bikes equipped with SPD peddle or standard toe clips, cadence and heart rate monitor, and the run takes place on an indoor track. A transition area will be designated in the arena/track area. There is a large bathroom to change clothes in the transition area. Participants will have 10 min to transition from the swim to bike and 5min to transition from the bike to run. The bike section will be a simulated course coordinated with music and a voice-over instruction describing the course terrain. Post event refreshments will be served!
What to Bring
Photo ID or CA membership card. Please leave all valuables at home.
Swim: swimming suit or trisuit, goggles, swim cap (latex cap provided), and towels (gym towels available), hair ties for long hair.
Bike: tank top/t-shirt and tri shorts /bike shorts or trisuit, socks, shoes for biking, bike bottle filled with a sports drink or water. Optional: SPD cleated bike shoe.
Run: running shoes, running hat (optional)
Special Needs: Nutritionals consisting of sports drink or food to take before and during the event.
Optional: waterproof sports watch, heart rate monitor, shower items and a change of clothes for after the event
WAVE start times: will vary depending on number of participants entered. First wave 6-6:30 AM all waves will be 20 min apart. Final Wave assignments will sent out by email on Friday March 2.
