_ The 2018 3 Rivers Century:

This is the 14th running of the 3 Rivers Century sponsored by the Gallatin Valley Bicycle Club. Proceeds from this ride benefit the "Bike Kitchen," a local non-proffit that promotes bike advocacy and provides bikes to those in need. The ride will start at the Gallatin County Regional Park located in Bozeman, Montanta at the pavilion adjacent to 1705 Vaguero Parkway (fire station). Ride options include a 33 mile Churchill Cruiser, a 66 mile River Rambler and the classic 100 mile 3 Rivers Century that crosses over the Gallatin, Jefferson and Madison Rivers. The ride will begin with coffee and breakfast treats. Lunch will be served in two locations. For the 33 mile Cruiser lunch will be served at the end of the ride at the regional park. Lunch for the 100 mile and 66 mile ride will be served at the Three Forks Ponds Park located in Three Forks, Montana. Ice cream will again be served at rides end at the regional park. Additional parking will be available this year at the church across the street from the fire station.

Event details and schedule

 

The 2018 GVBC 3 Rivers Century event will start and end in the park pavillion adjacent to the fire station located at 1705 Vaquero Parkway in Bozeman, Montana. Ride check-in, packets and information, course maps and late registration will be available starting at 6:00 am with the 66 and 100 mile rides starting at 7:00 am and the 33 mile ride starting at 8:00 am. A pre-ride continental breakfast will be served between 6:00 and 8:00 am. Parking is available at the church across the street from the fire station. The ride will be provided with sag support by the "Bike Kitchen" but be prepared for your own bike repairs with tools and spare parts including extra bike tire tubes, pump and patch kit. Helmets are required since you will be riding on active streets and highways. August Weather in Montana runs the gamut from hot and dry to cold, wet and even snowy, be prepared. Rest stops will be frequent and provide food and drinks geared to cyclists. Bathrooms are provided at reststops. Lunch will be provided by a local deli and include a vegetarian option. The ride will end where it started in Bozeman with ice cream scoops being served. Make sure you are in proper shape for the ride you select. The century ride has some long, steep hills with fast downhill runs. The 33 and 66 mile rides are valley ramblers with no major climbs or descents. A custom sports bag will be provided to each participant.
