2017 Contoocook Carry Triathlon:
• Started in 2002, The Contoocook Carry is an event that provides challenging fun to the participants and all of its proceeds are used to provide heating assistance for residents of the town of Hopkinton.
Course Information:
• The race begins with a 2 mile run to the banks of the Contoocook River where racers get their boats (canoes, kayaks, whatever).
• They paddle downriver about 2 miles to a takeout point just before a dam in the Village of Contoocook. The racers portage (with home high school talent helping those who need it) their boats below the dam and continue on about another 3 miles to a takeout point.
• From there, they or their teammates ride 14 miles through the gently rolling hillside eventually to cross a covered bridge and return to the Hopkinton High School.
Directions:
• Coming from the north or South on I-89, get off at exit# 6 and go north about 1 mile into the Village of Contoocook.
• At the stop sign at the fountain, turn left, go across the bridge over the Contoocook River and bear right onto Park.
• Proceed about 1/2 mile to the Hopkinton High School on the left.
