_ 2018 Bowling Green Sprint Triathlon, Duathlon & Aquabike:

The 2018 Bowling Green Sprint Triathlon will be held on Sunday August 26th starting at 8 am Central Standard Time. This will event will start from the 50-meter pool in the Russell Aquatics Center at Preston Miller Park. The race will consist of a 400-meter pool swim, a 23 k (14.3 mile) bike route and a 5 k (3.1 mile) run.

Race divisions include Men's and Women's Divisions with age groups ranging from under 20 to 65 and over. We also welcome relay team entries with Men's, Women's and Mixed Divisions. The race also has an Athena Class (Females 165lbs or greater) and a Clydesdale Class (Males 220 lbs. or greater).

We will also have a duathlon and aquabike competition as a part of this event.  The duathlon will be a 1.6K (1 mile) Run / 23 K Bike / 5K Run.  The aquabike race will be a 400-meter swim followed by a 23 K bike. 

Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three overall triathlon finishers in the Men’s and Women’s Divisions ($250, $150, $100)..

As part of the mission of this event to promote multisport events, we will be sponsoring a series of clinics and training sessions geared towards beginners and novice triathletes.  Please watch our website for announcements.

This year’s event is a project of the Bowling Green AM Rotary Club with the major sponsorships from Greenview Hospital, Bowling Green City Parks and Recreation Department, and Graves Gilbert Clinic.  Funds raised from this event will be used to support the Rotary Club’s scholarship program.   Currently this scholarship program supports Western Kentucky University nursing student scholarships.
