_ The 2018 Edenton Triathlon, Paddle Pedal Plod:
The Edenton triathlon takes place in beautiful historian Edenton North Carolina. Edenton is aColonial town dating back to the early18 century. It is a sprint triathlon encompassing a 2K paddle in Edenton Harbor,the site of a Civil War naval battle, followed by a 15K bike ride through the beautiful countryside, followed by a 5K run through historic Hayes plantation.
Event details and schedule
On-site registration will be between 5 and7 PM on May 18 at Watermans Grill downtown Edenton and morning registration from 7 AM to 8 AM the day of the race at Queen Anne Park. On street parking is available adjacent to the park and downtown waterfront. The routes for the individual events will be announced at registration and check in. The race will begin promptly at 8 AM with the paddle portion. A location for the Kayaks and bike racks will be at Queen Anne Park. There will be monitors in place to secure your equipment. Kayaks may be rented ($5 an hour) at the waterfront from the parks and recreation department. If you need to rent a Kayak please arrive early or set it up the day prior. The Kayak portion will be in the harbor and will return to the park, the bike portion will start at the park and return to the same location. The run portion will also begin and end at the park. Fastest time to date is about 1 hr 10 minutes. Tee shirts will be provided, prizes and awards will follow the end of the race. Stay around for live music and food venders during the Downtown Water and Musical festival.
