Our 9th Annual Youth Triathlon will be held Saturday, August 18 at the Recreation Center on Sunset Drive

NEW for 2018 - Youth with Special Needs Division (full details at the bottom of this page)

Divisions/Distances:
Ages 5-7: Swim 50 yards, Bike 1.5 miles, Run 0.5 miles
Ages 8-10: Swim 100 yards, Bike 3 miles, Run 1 mile
Ages 11-13: Swim 150 yards, Bike 4.5 miles, Run 1.5 miles
Ages 14-17: Swim 150 yards, Bike 4.5 miles, Run 1.5 miles

Fees:
Individual: $35
2-person relay: $50
3-person relay: $65

(T-shirt orders will be placed on August 1. Please register on or before this date to ensure you receive a shirt and in the size you request)

Course description:
Swim is a 6 lane 25 yd outdoor pool / Bike is on neighborhood streets. Volunteers and police will monitor traffic and intersections / Run will be on grass and trail.

Training Sessions for Registered Participants:
Tentatively bike, run and transition training will be held on Tuesdays from 6:15-7:00pm, July 10, 17, 24, 31 and August 7. (Emails will be sent out to those who have registered closer to July and this page will be updated). The location will be the field behind the recreation center. (Lynch Circle Road) Please have your child bring their bike, helmet and their running shoes. During practice the roads will not be closed nor will there be police to help guide traffic, so we ask that at least one parent bring their bicycle to join us on the route for safety. The more adults on the course the safer. The training's are included in the registration fee.

Swim training sessions will be limited due to limited access to the recreation pool. We will try and schedule at least one session prior to the event. Days and times will be announced at a later date. If you do not have a recreation pool membership, there will be a $2 fee for each child at each session. 

Youth with Special Needs Division Details

We are excited to offer this new category for 2018. This will be open to children with special needs ages 5 to 17. We are asking that at least one parent participate with your child. The event will be a swim and run event only and the distances will be modified. The children in this group will start right after the last child in the Youth Triathlon gets out of the water. They will swim 25 yards (one length in the pool) and run ½ mile (one lap around the field).Their transition area will be set up on the pool deck. We will not be chip timing this category in order to keep the registration fee low. The cost to participate will only be $10 per child and they will receive a finisher’s medal. You can’t signup online, so you will need to contact David Caudle to sign your child up.  David’s info is below. 

PLEASE NOTE: If you feel that your child could participate in all 3 divisions of the full Triathlon with or without assistance from a parent, please contact me. We can work this out and your child can register for the full event.
