_ The 2018 Great Island Race Series:

This is a great event for a beginner through elite athlete.  The great setting, wonderful volunteers, and beautiful course will have you appreciating the nature of adventure and endurance sports.  The swim and paddles are in a clear river with a gentle current.  The bike legs give you a quick tour of the Lock Haven area with some rolling hills and flats.  The run is along the river on top of the levee where you always have a view of the city and the river.  Several vendors, including a food truck, will be at the transition/finish area.  With the races capped at 100 racers each, this will be sure to sell out while still having plenty of space and not being overcrowded.  Prices are low for a triathlon there are no additional fees so be sure to get your registration locked in early.  If you are a previous participant, you should have received a $10 discount code via email.  The purpose of this race is for the Lock Haven Rotary Club to raise funds for local charities that totaled $5000 in 2016.

   • Start Time - 6:30 PM on June 29, 2017
2. Great Island Adventure Triathlon (GIAT)
   • 5K kayak, 14mi bike, 5K run
   • Start Time - 8:00 AM on June 30, 2017
3. Great Island Swim Triathlon (GIST)
   • 750m swim, 14mi bike, 5K run
   • Start Time - 8:00 AM on June 30, 2017

Packet pickup will occur on Friday, June 29th from 5:00-6:15 PM and June 30th from 6:00-7:30 AM.
