_ The 2018 Storm the Fort Sprint and 70.3 Triathlons:
Storm the Fort Half (Half Storm) - The Race for the Cannon enters its fifth year as a half distance event. A 1.2 mile wave start triangular swim course, followed by a rural rolling 56 mile bike ride (no major climbs) with three bottle exchanges. The run course will be two laps on the Kingston greenway and through downtown Kingston, with the first lap running past famous Fort Southwest Point. The run course will include fully stocked aid stations ~ every mile. Performance shirts, race logo DeFeet socks, and finisher medals to all participants, miniature cannon awards to age groups, and the coveted genuine cannonball awards to overall male and female winners. Expected half option participation—150.
Storm the Fort Sprint (Sprint Storm) - For the fifth year, Storm the Fort will offer a sprint option. Wave start point to point 600 meter swim, fairly flat (by East TN standards) 17 mile bike course, and an out and back “around the Fort” 4 mile run on the Kingston greenway. Performance shirts, race logo DeFeet socks, and sprint distance finisher medals, along with the popular miniature cannon awards, highlight the swag. Expected sprint option participation—175
Packet Pickup: Thursday, TBA Friday, 5 to 8pm, Fort Southwest Point Visitors Center, 1226 S KY St, Kingston Saturday, 6 to 7am, 58 Landing (Transition & Swim start/finish area)
