_ The 2018 Toughman Atomic Half Iron:

First 30 Toughman Tennessee entries will receive a FREE ENTRY to any Endurance Sports Management 2018 lake triathlon up to Endurance distance. Those first 30 will also receive one of our 50-50 hooded sweatshirts from 2017! Choose from the following lake triathlons: 4/28 Dickson Endurance or Iron Nugget Sprint Triathlons, 5/6 Hammer Olympic / Sprint Triathlons or Duathlon, 5/28 Goose Pond Sprint Triathlon, 6/10 Tellico Olympic / Sprint Triathlons, 8/18-19 Tri Fall Creek Falls Endurance/Olympic / Calfkiller Sprint Triathlons, 9/8 Frantic Frog Sprint Triathlon or 10/13 Atomic Olympic / Sprint Triathlons or Duathlon. The Toughman Tennessee Half - an Atomic Experience is Tennessees oldest half iron distance event and part of the ATOMIC WEEKEND along with the Atomic Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon. 2018 celebrates the 16th year of the event that has won praises from athletes, spectators and officials as one of the best half iron distance races in the Eastern US. Awards 3 deep in 5 year age groups, Finishers Medal & apparel, packet includes shirts, race socks, BASE Products & more. Over $1k in door prizes from XTERRA Wet Suits, Clif Bar & more.

Race date & time: Sunday, October 8, 2017- 7:30 AM EST start  - Note: we currently have "no time cut-offs" - historically, longest segment times have been: swim 1:15, bike 4 hours, run 3:45 - finish line, music, etc. will be in place for all finishers - venue tear-down may begin depending on severe weather forecast, as in 2014. Safety is our first priority.

PACKET PICKUP & LATE REGISTRATION - USAT LICENSE & PICTURE ID REQUIRED Saturday, Oct. 13th 6 PM - 7:30 PM EST . Race morning from 6 AM to 7 AM at race site. Registration is open race morning!

RACE LOCATION - The TVA Melton Hill Recreation Area is located outside Lenoir City, TN just off Hwy 321/95. The race site is about 30 miles West of Knoxville. From I-40 exit #364 towards Oak Ridge approximately 1/2 mile to park entrance on your RIGHT Look for Mastercraft banner! The three large parking lots are 1.3 miles into the park on the left before the dam. Camping on site is $17 night/ per site. Hot showers!

USAT Info: ALL USAT RULES APPLY – Toughman Tennessee Half - an Atomic Experience is a USAT sanctioned event. USAT officials will referee the event.

Age Groups and Awards: Overall awards for the top three male and female finishers & top three male and female masters. Age group awards for first, second, and third place in the following M & F age groups: 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45- 49, 50-55, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over & top 3 Clydesdale & Athena. Open Relay Division: Male, Female, and Co-ed.

About TOUGHMAN: The TOUGHMAN Half Iron series is currently 17 locations in North and South America with a TOUGHMAN Half Iron World Championship in New York in September. Each TOUGHMAN race has qualifying slots to the Championship race for an ELITE wave that athletes compete in for a CASH purse. You do not have to be a PRO to be in this wave.

Athlete Amenities - race packets will include: race heavy hooded sweatshirt, ESM water bottle, ESM socks, ESM swim cap (must be worn). FINISHER MEDALS & shirtsfor all finishers. Post race food & door prizes from sponsors to be announced.  

Registration processing fees are included in the entry fee for each event, no additional charges. Endurance Sports Management has enabled event insurance for your consideration in the event you are unable to compete. Please review this option during the registration process. 

Endurance Sports Management has a NO REFUND policy. This is based on our policy to provide 15% of GROSS REVENUES to our charity partners. Insurance is available during the registration of each event. Please take advantage of this option should you wish to insure your entry fees.

Event Cancellation / Modification Policy - If Natural Disaster or Community Disaster occurs, our action steps are as follows:

1. Endurance Sports Management in concert with local officials will make decisions based on safety first. 2. Courses and/or race segments will be altered as agreed to between Endurance Sports Management and local officials 3. Financial: It is not financially feasible for Endurance Sports Management to accept the risk of a disaster for everyone. Each registered participant needs to accept the risk of his or her entry fee. There will be NO REFUNDS or free entries to future races. The money you paid is spent developing the subject event. 4. Endurance Sports Management does not save any money if one of our events has to be canceled for reasons beyond our control. All supplies and services needed for the events are purchased and/or arranged in advance. All event supplies and services associated with that event must be paid for, regardless of the outcome.

Event Shirts - Event shirts are NOT guaranteed to participants registering within 2 weeks of each event. Please register prior to 2 weeks prior to guarantee your race shirt.
