_ 2018 Freedom Run 5K & 1M Walk:
Start Time: 9AM
Description: Join us for the 3rd annual 5K Freedom Run & 1 mile Walk to raise money for Stepping Stones for Stella. 100% of the event proceeds are allocated to the production and shipment of Buggies to families across the country. This year we are happy to fully embrace & recognize the “Freedom” behind this event, by introducing a brand-new race category that truly identifies with what we’ve always hoped for this race: a PC Open Category. We hope this category attracts & encourages people with medically verified visual, physical or neurological impairments to participate in this event.
More about Stepping Stones for Stella: Since 2013, more than $130K has been raised through a variety of fundraising events, corporate donors and small donations. In over the past 5 years, more than 250 buggies have been produced & shipped to families all over the country. As of now, our patented buggies are only eligible for children who have independent, unsupported trunk and head control. Our organization does require, an application process for families seeking a buggy due to our resources and the nature of the supply and demand of our buggies. More about the Buggies: These sturdy, light-weight, all-terrain Buggies allow easy access to all types of outdoor environments that may require moving across sand, gravel, dirt, grass and even snow. On average, the cost of a fully adapted Buggy is nearly $550 depending on its size, add-on components and shipping requirements.
Course Information:
Course: The course will start and finish at the Temple Emanu-EL. The 5K is flat & fast. Check back at a later date for published course maps for the 5k and 1 mile.
Kids Fun Run: This 1/4 mile Kids Fun Run is targeted for those 10 and under starting at 8:45am. This category doesn’t include a race t-shirt, but all kids will receive a finishers medal. This quarter mile run will take place all within the Temple-EL Manuel parking lot. Parents are welcome to run alongside their child if they wish to do so.

Packet Pickup/Race Day Reg: Packet pickup will be on Saturday 6/9 at the Greater Boston Running Company from 9AM-Noon. Race day registration/packet pickup will open at 7:30AM.
Fees:
$25 until 3/1
$30 until 6/9
$35 on race day
Youth Under 15- $20 (no price increase)
Team Stella: $50
Kids Fun Run (10 and under): $5 (1/4 Mile)
Team Stella: This registration category is aimed for those who are family, close friends or for anyone who would like to make an additional donation in addition to his/her registration entry.
Those participating on Team Stella, must be pre-registered by 6/1 to be recognized as part of Stella’s team.
PC Open Division: This category is for anyone with medically verified visual, physical or neurological impairments.
Swag: All pre-registered participants by 6/1 will receive a custom running hat.
Awards: Top 3 M/F finishers. 1st M/F in each of the following age groups: 12-Under, 13-16, 17-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. 1st M/F on Stella’s Team. 1st M/F in the PC Open Division. (No double dipping)
Post Race Festivities: Post race refreshments will be sponsored by Whole Foods and Panera Bread. There will be music, a variety of kid’s games/entertainment and a slew of local and corporate vendors supporting the event.
