Swim:
Athletes begin by swimming 500 yards (that's 20 pool lengths) in the North Platte Recreation Center's indoor pool. Swimmers will proceed in heats, two athletes to a lane. Athletes in competitive division must swim the entire distance. Athletes in fitness and relay divisions may water-walk, swim or any combination of the two. After finishing their swim, athletes will leave the pool and proceed to the bike staging area in the southwest parking lot of the Recreation Center. 

Bike:
Athletes bike 14 miles on an out-and-back route — departing from the North Platte Recreation Center to ride down Leota Street and turning south on Buffalo Bill Avenue, crossing over the South Platte River and Interstate 80. Riders will continue to Walker Road, then turn west before turning around at the midpoint and returning by the same route to the bike/run staging area in the southwest parking lot at the Recreation Center.

Run:
Athletes finish the triathlon with a 5K run, proceeding down Leota Street from the Rec Center before turning south on Buffalo Bill, again crossing over the river and I-80. Runners will turn at the midpoint on South Buffalo Bill and return to the finish line at the Rec Center.
