_ The 2018 Charity Treks Burlington to Portland HIV/AIDS Vaccine Bike Trek:

The Charity Treks Burlington VT to Portland ME HIV/AIDS Vaccine Bike Trek 2018 is a (4) Day 325 Mile fully supported bicycle trek.   This event will be our 17th trek towards the goal of a world free from HIV/AIDS.  100% of your donations will go directly to fund researchers at UCLA AIDS Institute and the Emory Vaccine Center.  Over the course of 4 days and approx. 325 miles we will ride from Burlington Vermont and travel over the green and white mountains as we head towards downtown Portland Maine.  This is a fully supported bike ride with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included each day during the ride. We also have stocked pit stops every 12-20 miles.  

Event details and schedule

For 2018 we are excited to be returning to the Northeast. 

We have made a few changes from past rides to help improve the experience.  We will be staying at Hotels for Camp 1 and Camp 3 and this is included in your registration fee. Camp 2 will be at Camp Woodlawn and tent camping is welcome and included in your registration fee.  We have arranged a group rate at a local hotel if you wish to stay there instead of camping.  The cost of the hotel this night is NOT included.  Please see below for more detailed information. 

The event schedule for 2018 is:

Day 0 - Monday, August 6, 2018 -Mandatory On- Site Registration at our Host Hotel from 2:00 PM - 5:30 PM (Host Hotel is the Doubletree Hotel in Burlington Vermont (formerly the Sheraton Burlington) - Rate is $159/night. 

Day 1 – Tuesday, August 7, 2018 - (approx. 110 Miles) Camp Location is the Quality Inn at Quechee Gorge, VT.  Double Occupancy Hotel accommodations and dinner are provided.

Day 2 – Wednesday, August 8, 2018 - (approx. 60 Miles) Camp Location is Camp Woodlawn (Rosanne's House) in Tilton NH.  Tent camping and dinner are provided.   If you wish to stay in a local hotel, we have secured a group rate at the Holiday Inn Express Tilton-Lakes Region for $125-$130/night. The hotel is about 5 min. away from Camp Woodlawn.

Day 3 – Thursday, August 9, 2018 - (approx. 100 miles) Camp Locations are the Econo Lodge and Days Inn in West Ossipee NH - Double Occupancy Hotel accommodations and dinner at the Yankee Smokehouse are included.   

Day 4 – Friday, August 10, 2018 - (approx. 55 Miles) Our final ride in location is planning to be Deering Oaks Park in Portland Maine.  Our host Hotel in is the Holiday Inn By The Bay.  Rate is $220.00/night.  There will be a dinner and auction Friday night.  The location and cost are still being worked out.
