The first annual Miles for Smiles Duathlon is in honor of my daughter’s dad who suffered from depression and died July 2015 eventually losing his battle with depression. In an effort to raise awareness for anxiety and depression we planned this family friendly duathlon which takes place in the towns of Winchester and Lexington. The run starts from the Vinson-Owen Elementary School and winds through scenic, neighborhood streets for 2 miles, followed by a 10mile road bike through historical Lexington and finishing with a repeat of the run. There is one major hill and a few curves on both the run and bike courses. We will limit the registrations to 200 so sign up early this event is sure to sell out fast!
