The United MSD Foundation is pleased to announce our 1 st annual 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run which is scheduled for Saturday, February 24, 2018 . This event will benefit the United MSD Foundation created in 2016 by Ocean Springs’ residents, Amber Olsen and Thomas Cannan, and currently the only nationally recognized rare disease organization in the state of Mississippi. It is estimated that 1 in 10 globally suffer from a rare disease, with only 5% of rare diseases having treatment options.

We aim to not only bring awareness to MSD, but to rare diseases as a group. In medicine it is said “when you hear hoofbeats think horses, not zebras”. This is how the zebra became the non-official mascot of rare disease - and the zebrarun will aims to honor those in our community who have be touched by a rare disease. “

Event details and schedule

The 5K Zebra run will begin at Fort Maurepas park on front beach and will continue along the beach front and Biloxi Bay bridge. The 5K will be followed by a 1 mile Kids fun run. Register in advance to ensure a T- Shirt or register at the event T-shirts while supplies last.
