The Defeat DIPG Superhero Sprint & 6K, on Sunday, May 27, 2018, presented by Headfirst Summer Camps, is a fun and meaningful way to contribute to the fight against childhood brain tumors.

Brain tumors are the leading cause of childhood cancer death for children and adolescents under the age of 19.  And, DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma) is the most lethal form of pediatric brain cancer.  There is now hope for progress in the battle against DIPG, and your participation can make an impact and help save these kids' lives!

All proceeds from the race will benefit the Michael Mosier Defeat DIPG Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for research.  The Foundation was created in memory of Michael William Mosier, a six-year-old little boy from Bethesda, Maryland, who fought DIPG for 8.5 months before passing away from the disease in May 2015.

This is a fun, family-friendly event, with something for everyone!  A 6K walk/run and for our kids:  a 1K walk/run and Tot Sprint.  There will be games and entertainment for all throughout the event at our Superhero Central.  For our competitive runners, the 6K is a USATF-certified event, with top finisher recognition and prizes.

Early bird registration closes March 1, 2018!

Everyone who registers by Monday, May 7, 2018 for the 6K, 1K, or Tot Sprint will receive a free performance-style race t-shirt in the size they request through registration.  For individuals who register after May 7, t-shirts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last!  Everyone loved the 2017 shirts, so be sure to register by May 7 to lock in your shirt for 2018!
