_ The 2018 Sister Lakes Triathlon:
This event is all about community! A community that brought an idea to us to develop, and now we are very happy to be the official event management team for all the residents in the Sister Lakes community, with proceeds going to their community development programs.
A series of 7 lakes in a 25 mile radius make up this course, which means on race morning it seems like every person within that radius is out to cheer on the athletes. Everyone in the area does something to help with the event and at the end of the day you, the athlete, benefit from their participation.
The swim start and exit is from a land owner’s vacant lot; the transition area is across the street on another land owner’s vacant lot. The bike course rolls through and around the Sister Lakes community. The run course circles and rolls through a few of the lakes the bike course misses, passing dozens of houses with cheering residents before you head into the Lions Club park for your finish and a great grilled lunch hosted by the Lions Club Grillmasters!
Don’t forget the incredible community donated raffle with tons of great prizes.
The finish line, registration, parking, and post race festivities will be located at the Lions park located half a mile down 95th Ave. from the Transition Area. Please do NOT park at transition, there is very little room.
After parking at the Lions club, registering, etc. you can ride down to the Transition, following the signs LEFT out of the park then straight down to T-Area. You MUST get body marked and pick up your Timing Chip and Strap at Transition, after you have completed the registration/packet pickup process at Lions Park. Body Marking/Chip Pickup will be located at the Run In/Out area. Bike In/Out will be closed.
Water temperature for the swim has been 90 degrees the first two years. It is a shallow lake, so don’t count on wetsuits being allowed.
The bike course is a smooth, but rolling course most of the way. There are a few flat sections, but the course will keep you on your toes and will take you around several other lakes.
The run course will take you around Big Crooked Lake through the residential areas around the lake, which will attract the locals to cheer you on as you fly by.
