Soak up the Sun Triathlon :
Triathlon : Swim 250 meters, Bike 8 Miles, Run 2 Miles

2011 Soak Up The Sun Triathlon:

Soak up the Sun is a beginner friendly triathlon with a lake swim of 250 meters, a bike of 8 miles, and a 2 mile run.

The race takes place in the Reunion subdivision in Madison, MS and will be held on May 14th in 2011.

There is a separate "fat tire" or mountain bike division if you do not own a road or tri bike to go along with the usual age group and Clyde/Athena categories.

Course Information:

Transition will be on the grass adjacent to the beach. Ample room will be available to accommodate mountain bikes, and volunteers will assist you with transition set up if you need it.

Swim:

The swim is a time trial start, rectangular, 250 meter course around buoys in the open, shallow waters of Reunion Lake.

Safety will be provided by dive and rescue, kayaks, lifeguards, and volunteers.

Bike:

The bike will be an 8 mile loop on paved roads.

There will be light traffic with safety provided by the Madison Sheriff Dept. and volunteers.

The run will be a two mile out and back in the Reunion neighborhood.

You MUST have a helmet to race. If you do not have a helmet, you will not be allowed to start the bike leg.

Run:

The race finishes with a short, flat 2 mile run on residential streets.
