_ The 2018 USA Triathlon Youth and Junior National Championships:
The 2018 USA Triathlon Youth and Junior National Championships will once again take place in West Chester, Ohio, on Aug. 4-5. The race venue will be located at Voice of America Park.
USA Triathlon anticipates a sell-out field of more than 700 youth and junior competitors in attendance, including athletes from Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico. In addition to individual honors, National Championship titles will be awarded to the top youth club (non-drafting events).
The Youth Elite National Championships and Junior Elite National Championships will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, followed by the Youth National Championships and Mixed Team Relay on Sunday, Aug. 5.
Event details and schedule
Awards are given to top 3 in each age group (7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 & Para)
Youth National Championships (non-drafting)
7-10-year-olds (as of 12/31/18): 100m swim, 5k bike, 1k run
11-15-year-olds (as of 12/31/18): 200m swim, 10k bike, 2k run
(No qualification required)
Youth Elite National Championships (draft-legal)
13-15-year-olds (as of 12/31/18): 375m swim, 10k bike, 2.5K run
Junior Elite National Championships (draft-legal)
16-19-year-olds (as of 12/31/18): 750m swim, 20k bike, 5k run
Mixed Team Relay (draft-legal)
Athletes must be 13-19 years old as of Dec. 31, 2018, to compete with a team.
