he Sri Chinmoy 1K Sprint Swim in Harriman State Park in upstate New York takes place in the beautiful open waters of Lake Welch.
The Sri Chinmoy 1K Sprint Swim is part of the Sri Chinmoy Swim-Run Trio: three races staged simultaneously at Harriman State Park on Sunday, September 9th 2018:
* Swim-Run(Aquathlon) race as an individual or relay team
* 10 km road-run race
* 1 km open-water sprint swim race
Through a well marked and beautiful course, home-made lunch, medals for all finishers and especially a large community of committed and encouraging volunteers we try to offer a race atmosphere where beginners and veteran athletes alike can excel and transcend their own previous limits.
Sponsored by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team in conjunction with the NYS-OPRHP Parks System.
Event details and schedule
Race start is at 10:00 am.
Day-of-race registration and number pick-up will be open from 8:15 am - 9:30 am on Sunday, 9 September 2018.
Wetsuits are strongly encouraged. There will be a transition area, as well as a gear drop-off area available to all participants.
A post-race vegetarian picnic lunch will be provided to all participants.
Should you wish to spend the weekend near Harriman State Park, you may search for nearby hotels and Bed & Breakfast lodges in the area.
