Course Description and Highlights: USATF Certified. Course is out and back on Neyland Drive.  

Registration & Entry Fee (NO REFUNDS OR BIB TRANSFERS): NEW THIS YEAR! AGE BASED PRICING! 5K Cost for ages 4-12 through December 23 is $10 and cost for ages 13-17 is $15. Age based pricing is only available through early online registration. Deadline to register using this pricing structure is December 23. It is not available for late registration at either packet pickup or on race day. KTC Members are eligible for $5 discount. Early Bird Cost for ages 18 and over is $20 for the 5K through October 29th. October 30th- December 23 is $25. December 24 to December 31 is $30. Race Day Registration is $35. Packet Pick-up Location: TBD

Volunteers: It will take over 100 volunteers to make this race a success! Opportunities are available before, during, and after the race. Volunteers who also run will receive a $5 coupon code that can be used toward race registration (excluding the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon) and non-running volunteers receive a $10 code. Fleece Blanket: Pre-registered runners will receive a race specific Fleece Blanket! There are no t-shirts this year!

Awards: Awards to the top male and female as well as the oldest and youngest male and female. Awards will be distributed to the top 100 men and women when crossing the finish line. No age group awards at this event.

Grand Prix Points: This is an event on the schedule for the 2018 Grand Prix Presented by Threds. 2018 Individual Grand Prix Points awarded in the typical overall, masters, grandmasters, senior grandmasters, clydesdale, athena, and age group categories. Prizes will not be given in these categories at this event but participants will receive Grand Prix points. Remember, to be eligible for Grand Prix Points, participants must be a member of KTC and must volunteer for at least 3 KTC races throughout the year. 

2017 Grand Prix Winners: The 2017 Grand Prix Series Presented by Threds winners will be announced at the Calhoun's New Year's Day 5K Run/Walk. Join other runners and walkers in celebrating these athletes and their great accomplishment for 2017!

Post Race Refreshments: Calhoun's on the River will provide a breakfast bag for participants follwing the event. Participants must present bib to receive food. 

Race Etiquette: Due to insurance regulations, roller blades, strollers, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the course. The 5K course closes in 1 hour and 15 minutes.

KTC Safety Policy: KTC’s mission is to encourage lifelong physical well-being through running and walking. That is accomplished through a variety of events and programming.
The Knoxville Track Club puts the safety of its participants, spectators, staff and volunteers first. Dangerous weather conditions pose a unique challenge to an event of any size, distance or location.

Therefore, KTC has adopted the following Inclement Weather Policy:
Weather forecasts will be monitored prior to the event, with special attention placed on the possibility of heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds, extreme temperatures and humidity. If necessary, athletes will be made aware of these conditions on Knoxville Track Club’s website (www.ktc.org), as well as through other available means of communication such as e-mail, Twitter, Facebook and public address announcements.
The Executive Director and Race Director in consultation, when available, with law enforcement, fire/EMS, other medical officers and other officials, will monitor the weather and make a decision if any action will be taken to modify the race. Possible changes include: Altering the start time, altering the course, or in extreme situations cancellation of the event. Visible lightning occurring within 30 minutes of the scheduled start will cause the race to be postponed for a minimum of 30 minutes. Additional sightings will continue to delay the race in 30-minute increments up to a maximum of 3 delays.
Race personnel reserve the right to delay, cancel, or suspend the race or modify the course due to inclement weather. As stated on registration and race pages, there are no refunds or transfers. Participants must abandon the race if ordered to do so by the race personnel, medical staff, fire/paramedics or police personnel.
