_ The 2018 California Triathlons:
Pleasanton & Livermore will be your stomping ground for this day of triathlons. Set right in midsummer and in the heart of the Bay Area this event will set the stage for great Olympic and Sprint distance triathlons. This venue is 20-25 miles from Oakland and San Jose in the East Bay. Come enjoy a weekend of wine tasting, musical entertainment, great restaurants and other local attractions. All will enjoy this safe and fast bike course around the Livermore valley vineyards.

Transition will be first come first serve and divided by Sprint & Olympic. Tri Clubs and teams will have designated areas in transition.

Sprint: 1/2 Mile Swim Course
Olympic: .93 Mile Swim Course
Can I stop during the swim? Yes, you can float on your back or stop swimming at any time but you cannot stop and hang onto the board or kayak used by the lifeguards. Since they’re managing the safety of all athletes during the event, if you need assistance during the race they will be forced to remove you from the water.

Drafting: Drafting is illegal at the California Sprint Triathlon. We ask for your help in doing the best we can to help enforce the “NO DRAFTING” rules. You, the athlete, are the simplest and best way to keep the bike course safe and draft free. We will have officials out on the bike course, but you personally need to help the sport and yourself by simply backing out of packs, slowing down or verbally mentioning to other athletes not to draft.
Run Courses:
Sprint Run Course: 1 loop / 3.1 Miles
Olympic Run Course: 2 loops / 6.2 Miles
Participants run along the trails at Shadow Cliffs Park. The course is lined with cones and markings. Based the weather in mid summer bring a hat and sunscreen. There will be aid stations every mile dispensing water and electrolyte sports drink.

Right into Shadow Cliffs Regional Park
From San Jose
Take 680 North
Exit Sunol Blvd (Castlewood) twd Pleasanton
Sunol becomes 1st Street
1st Street becomes Stanley Blvd
Right into Shadow Cliffs Regional Park
