Come kick off your New Year at the 2018 Flamingo 5K Beach Run at the Flagler Avenue Beach Approach in New Smyrna Beach! In addition to the ceremonial Unlocking of the Ocean at 8:30am and the special Florida version of the polar bear plunge, the Flamingo Flop, at 11:00am, this 5K race, like no other, starts at 9am and takes place along our beautiful hard-packed beaches.
Runners, walkers, and joggers are welcome to participate in this chip-timed race, with registration starting at 8am, and race start at 9am. Medals in 84 categories and two overall plaques will be awarded, as well as prizes for the best costumes, so be sure to break out the pink feathers! PLUS, Finisher medals to the first 500 runners!
But that’s not all! To celebrate the New Year and get you started on your resolutions, we will be giving the first 300 runners each a key. At the post-race social, try your key on the lock of 10 new Beach Cruiser bicycles and if your key opens the lock, then you keep the bike!
Race proceeds benefit Southern Stone Charities so bring your friends and family out to celebrate 2017 New Smyrna Beach style!
