_ 2017 Desert Dash Trail Half Marathon, 10K & 5K:
Join us for our 5th annual Desert Dash Trail Race at the beautiful Chihuahuan Desert Nature Park in Las Cruces, New Mexico! There's a distance for everyone: 1 mile, 5K, 10K, or half marathon. Bring the whole family! All levels welcome!
Finisher's medals for half marathon finishers* and all children in the 1-mile race! Participants will also receive technical race shirts!

Desert Dash is a fundraiser for the non-profit Asombro Institute for Science Education. We serve more than 18,000 local students annually by bringing them quality, hands-on science education programs.
*Medals available for the first 125 finishers in the Half Marathon.
Course Information:
The race is held on a mixture of single-track trails and jeep roads. The trails are moderately easy and not overly technical. There is 371 feet of elevation gain over the course of the Half Marathon.
Directions:
- Getting to the Nature Park:
- From I-25 in Las Cruces, New Mexico, head east on Highway 70.
- Take the Mesa Grande Rd. exit (at Oñate High School)
- Make a U-turn under the highway to head west on the frontage road.
- Turn right (north) on Jornada Road.
- Proceed north on Jornada Road for approximately 6.5 miles.
- Follow the directions of the parking attendants, and park on Jornada Road near the Chihuhuan Desert Nature Park.
