Think you have what it takes? Come join us and find out by registering for the 2017 Black Squirrel Triathlon!

The triathlon is on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Lake Manawa State Park. The race is open to ages 18 years and older, both individuals and teams! 

Swimmers take to the water at Lake Manawa for the first leg (750 yards) of the Black Squirrel Triathlon. Bikers will start at Lake Manawa State Park Beach and bike around the lake 2 times for a total of 13 miles. This is a flat bike course. The Black Squirrel Triathlon will conclude with a 3.1-mile run on City trails (1.55 out and 1.55 back to the finish line).

Triathlon Categories - There will be Individual and Teams consisting of 2 or 3 people

Overall Awards – Will be given to the Top Male, Top Female and Top Team. The teams are all treated equally regardless of all male, all female or mixed.

Age Groups – Will be broken into 5 year Age Groups by gender. Under 20, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60+
 

T-shirts:  You must pre-register by Tuesday, August 5th to be guaranteed a dryfit race shirt.

Medals: for all participants.

This is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event.
 

Event details and schedule

7:00 AM Transition Area opens – There are no assigned bike rack positions. It is on a first-come first-serve basis.

7:00 AM Packet Pickup and Timing Chip – Please arrive early and double check your items at packet pickup. Timing Chips are returned at the Finish Line. Un-retuned chips will cost the athlete $30.

7:45 AM Mandatory Race Meeting – Please attend the pre-race meeting and final instructions for all individuals and team members. Bring your questions.

 8:00 AM First Wave Start - Depending on the number of athletes, there will be several waves separated by several minutes.

10:45 AM Award Presentation

11:00 PM - Transition area closed.  All equipment must be removed.
