The USAT-sanctioned adult sprint triathlon is a 1/4-mile swim, 10-mile bike and 3.1-mile (5K) run on Captiva Island, Florida. The swim will be in the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the bike will cover the length of Captiva Island on closed roads, and the run will be on the golf course path along the Gulf and Redfish Pass at South Seas Island Resort.

There will be three age groups for the kids' tri Sept. 12:
-- Ages 6-8: 100 yard swim, 1.5 mile bike, 0.5 mile run
-- Ages 9-10: 100 yard swim, 1.5 mile bike, 0.5 mile run
-- Ages 11-13: 200 yard swim, 3 mile bike, 1 mile run

On Sept. 9, the kids will compete by age groups:
-- Ages 6-8: 100 yard swim, 1.5 mile bike, 0.5 mile run
-- Ages 9-10: 100 yard swim, 1.5 mile bike, 0.5 mile run
-- Ages 11-13: 200 yard swim, 3 mile bike, 1 mile run
START: Swim start for ages 6-8 at 7:30 a.m.; start for ages 9-10 at 8:00 a.m.; start for ages 11-13 at 8:30 a.m.
FINISH: Course will be swept at 9:20 a.m.
On Sept. 10, the adult swim will start in waves at 7:15 a.m. (elites go first); 7 waves total; 6 by age group and 1 by elite amateur status which is based on qualification times. The course will be swept at 10 a.m. Awards presentation begins at 9:15 a.m.
Each person must pick up his or her own packet. A parent or guardian must accompany a child. Photo ID is required except for children. Please bring your annual or one day USAT proof of membership.
